Julie Good-Kruger made the first Inglenook brick tiles for her own historic home in 2002. In 2004, she and her teen-aged daughter Emily formed the LLC for Inglenook Tile Design. Julie runs the business from her home office in Quarryville, PA, and the tiles are made in Harrisburg.
Inglenook Tile Design was the second company Julie started on the kitchen table. The first, Good-Kruger Dolls Inc., was started when she was directly out of college while trying to figure out what to do next with her Classics B.A. She had a dream that she was making dolls, and didn’t look back.
Good-Kruger Dolls was in business for twenty years, then sold to the Boyds Collection in 2000. Julie worked for Boyds for over four years in product development and design, then started Inglenook Tile.
Her years of design, sculpture, and business management in Good-Kruger Dolls and The Boyds Collection lay the groundwork for this new venture. In 2024, we celebrate twenty years of Inglenook Tile Design!
